Arlington Parks and Recreation has announced a September schedule of events aimed at residents of all ages, as the summer season winds down. The department says the lineup is meant to carry the energy of summer into the fall, mixing community gatherings with creative workshops.

The first event is the Doggie Dip Pool Pawty on Saturday, September 7, at the Howard Moore Play Pool. Dogs and their owners can use the pool in two sessions: small dogs from 9 to 10 AM, and larger dogs from 10:15 to 11:15 AM. Pre-registration costs $5 per dog, while admission on the day is $7 per dog.

On Friday, September 13, Ventana Grille will host a paint night. Participants will follow a guided session to produce their own artwork, and the ticket includes dinner and a non-alcoholic beverage. Guests are encouraged to bring a decorated apron for a chance to win a gift card to the restaurant. Pre-registration is required, and extra food and drinks can be bought on site.

The following day, Saturday, September 14, the department will mark 100 years of Arlington Parks and Recreation with Dottie's Woodland West Centennial Car Show. Owners of classic and modern vehicles are invited to display their cars and meet other community members. The free event runs from 10 AM to 12 PM, and those who want to enter a car can register online.

The Aging Well Expo is set for Wednesday, September 18, at the Esports Stadium Arlington & Expo Center, from 9 AM to 2 PM. Designed for adults 50 and older, it will feature more than 100 vendors, fitness demonstrations, health screenings and educational presentations intended to encourage healthier lifestyles among seniors.

The month closes with Family Video Game Night on Saturday, September 28, at the Beacon Recreation Center. Running from 6 to 9 PM, the evening will include both classic and contemporary games. Registration is $10 per person and covers pizza.

The department urges residents to sign up early, since space at some events may be limited. Registration details and further information are available on the Arlington Parks and Recreation website, or by contacting the department directly.
